Default any ideas on proportioning valve????

have a 1992 accord lx, been going through brake fluid like a son of a ......!finally nailed it down to a leak from the proportioning valve, out of a small rubber plug in middle of valve. it leaks out running, and also when shut down will gravity feed reservoir almost empty. is this a common problem, what is the problem behind the leak, and any opinion on whether to replace new or install a pick n pull. thanks for any ideas

I don't hear about a lot of those failing, so maybe that means a pick-n-pull might be OK?? Especially from a car that still has brake fluid.

If the carcass you get it from has the brake system opened up, drained, with air in there, then pass. Brake fluid gets real corrosive when it picks up moisture, so if the system is opened it's more likely to be bad.
