help me start my car
I have a 1988 honda accord . I am having a real problem with my car .It has a 4cyl. 5speed trans and its carb. 2bl . Some times it starts just fine , no problems. Other times its really hard to start . It will turn over and over and over. I have to hold the peddle to the floor . It will finally start but when it does there will be gas coming out the over flow tubes (pouring out) So now it is flooded and runs bad . Ok sometimes it clears it self up annd then runs fine . then it doesnt and the gas just keeps flowing out the tubes i mean feeling up the bowls until it is leaking on the ground . Please if someone could help me that would be great. thank you

Pull the air cleaner. Remove the two 10mm nuts holding the srceen over the carb inlet,,,don't drop them into the carb.
Key on, not running, choke open, looking into the carb do you see fuel flowing into the throat of the carb? Then you might have to remove the air cleaner base and look to see if you can find the source of the fuel-what "overflow tubes" are you talking about. |
Float-valve stuck open so the float-bowl fills completely & overflows through the vents?
|
Vent solenoid plunger stuck?
