HELP: Throttle Position Sensor
1990 4DR EX:
[S] (sport light?) been flashing and ECU flashes 7 times. Which is the Throttle Position Sensor? Where is it and is it a DIY? It has been one thing after another with this old car, but I am not giving on it just yet and this site has been a great help. Thank you everyone! -miles |
RE: HELP: Throttle Position Sensor
Look for the cable drum of the throttle body. The TPS is on the opposite end of that shaft. It measures the position of the throttle shaft as it twists.
Officially you can't replace it. Have to replace the whole throttle body. $$$ But apparently it's attached with 'rivets' that are really screws. Use a dremel tool to cut a slot for a screwdriver. Then do the same with a junkyard part. There's threads around here (search) that say how to position the TPS based on measuringit's voltage. |
RE: HELP: Throttle Position Sensor
