HID problem
So im driving home last night and boom,my left hid light goes out.. so i called the person who i baught it from because of warranty or what not,so i had both bulbs replaced and i go to turn them on and they both dont work,so the guy switches ballast and same thing, still dont turn on,so i went on a mission to my job to buy two new headlight relays and a bunch of 20Amp fuses, changed everything and still doesnt fire up.. so just now i put my old halogens in there, and they came on just fine.. am i missing something here.. input please.

RE: HID problem
How are you HIDs wired?
Are they Headlight Plug -> Ballast -> Bulb Or Battery -> Relay -> Ballast -> Bulb? 20A fuses are more than plenty, I have 5A inline fuses for mine and my ballasts are rated for like 7A or something and they don't burn out... you may be frying the ballasts somehow. |
RE: HID problem
Its headlight>balast>bulb..
But the thing is now i notice that when i flick the light to come on it clicks, and i cam here it coming from the fuse box under the hood. |
RE: HID problem
You relay contacts are probably worn out... that's what's clicking the fuse box.

RE: HID problem
I read that the HID and or ballast arent getting the right amout of power to operate properly..and i need to install a relay harness kit?

RE: HID problem
Possibly... you can make you're own, I did. Basically, with the kit, the ballasts draw their power directly from the battery and not through the switch on the steering column.

RE: HID problem
