I broke the tail light cover on the right side. How do I replace it? Can I replace the cover only? or I have to change the whole assembly? Anybody can help to give me a diy instruction?

 

Cover? As in the red/clear/orange lens?

You'll need to search a local junkyard or buy a set online. There's 4-5 studs going through the trunk and bolts holding them on. Simple unplug all the bulbs, remove the bolts and pull the light away.

 

You don't have to change the whole set for the lights to work. As long as the bulbs are in the right spots than it should be fine. If one bulb or bulb holder socket is not connected or missing then none of the tail lights will light up.

 

No, you don't have to buy a whole set. But, if you can't find an OEM one at the yard, you're better off buying a whole set of new ones because the colors won't match to the old and new lights.

Thanks for the replies. The tail lights work fine. Just the plastic cover was cracked. So I can just find that cover piece in the junkyard? I don't even know where to find a junkyard locally. How much do they usually want for that? I also find the key hole to the trunk runs through that cover, will that make the installation more difficult?
