How to set odometer to correct mileage
 

I have a 1996 accord lx 4yl sedan and my odometer just stopped. I know I need to purchase another cluster. How do I set the new odometer to reflect the correct mileage?? :confused:

I've tried it and its difficult to do. I got it to the mileage I wanted but shortly after it locked up and wouldnt move.

Your best bet is to get one on ebay that either has close enough mileage or usually the sellers know how to roll them and can set them to whatever you want.

Just swap the pcb instead of the whole cluster.

Remove the speedometer from the cluster. On the back of the speedometer is the Printed Circuit Board (pcb) that controls it, the board is attached to the mechanical portion with pins; these two parts are sandwiched between the cluster front and back. So, once the speedometer is out of the cluster you can carefully pull the board off - no need to change the odometer.

Doing this allows you to use any cluster; no need to worry about the transmission or ABS etc...

The board can usually be repaired by re-soldering the components on the board, but you won't know if you fixed it until the car is back together.

Thanks for posting the info white95. It was helpful to me. I just replaced the PCB behind the speedometer on my 1994 Accord EX (345K miles) and now the speedometer and odometer are working again! I purchased a used cluster on ebay for $40, which saved me quite a bit. It took several hours to take the dash apart, take the cluster apart, replace the board, and put humpty back together again, but very much worth it!
