HVAC Code 4 help
 

i have DTC 4 "AN OPEN OR SHORT IN THE MODE CONTROL MOTOR CIRCUIT" it says see page 21-24. do you happen to know how to fix this or have those pages to post? thanks in advance

TX - I moved this from the end of a 7th gen thread (03-07). There is a bit of difference between the 2 and 4 door models.

i just updated my signature. i have the 4 door.

There are tests to run. Also be sure, if you go thru everything and are down to replacing the motor - be sure the linkage is not binding.

I have an 05 Accord and the vents will not physically switch to defrost, floor, or floor/vent although the LED controls will show it switched.

The diagnostic presented the same DTC Code 4 "An open or short in the mode control circuit" mentioned above.

I am not familiar with using a volt meter and currently don't have access to one to test all the connections. Would it be a safe bet to order a new mode control motor? If so, can someone pass along the part #?

The motor is different between the 4-door and 2-door. Which one do you own?

It is a 4 door.
