I need help with a funny noise
I am new to this site, and i just got a used accord. I am loving the ride and how it saves me money on gas. But I do have a couple of problems with the car. I found most of the answers by searching the forums. Now the problem I have is that my car makes a screeching sound when in park and when on the move, but when I push the clutch pedal the sound stops. When I let go of the clutch the sound comes back. Should I be worried? Any help would be great.

"Park"
No park selection with manual Trans. Sound like throw out bearing is faulty. Needs new clutch. Good luck.

The throw out bearing should not spin when your foot is off of the clutch pedal. So it shouldn't make any noise.
I wonder if you push or pull release arm back towards the slave cylinder if the noise will go away? |
PA, are you sure? There's a weak spring inside the clutch slave cylinder, that pushes the T-O bearing lightly against the pressure plate.
Sounds like a noisy T-O bearing to me. Kinda common to get noisy when lightly held, but gets quiet with more force against the pressure plate. |
I made a video I hope this is more helpful with the problem that I am having.
