I'm going to give it a try...

Sooo my transmission has been slipping and figured a transmission flush might help. I've never done any work on my car before, but I feel like I can save a little money and do little things here and there. I bought all the stuff and i'm ready to go. Hopefully everything turns out good.*crosses fingers* :D i'm excited!

Good luck and I hope it fixes your problem, but seeing as you have a 6th gen v6 it probably wont.

YouTube - 10 Min Atomatic Transmission Fluid Flush + Replacement (Most Cars)

yeah i watched that earlier...that method looks complicated. I'm going to stick with the drain, refill, drive around method. thank you though

First round complete!

Man oh man are those screws hard to get off!!! The one screw to drain the oil is a killer especially that you can't use your body under your car...i don't know how safe it is BBUUTTT after a hour of working at getting it loose and taking a break. I gave the ratchet one good kick and got the screw loose lol...i'm a runner and i always can count on my legs for strength lol...i'm going to finish it up tomorrow.

i'm so happy with myself right now! :D and i thought it was kewl seeing all that metal magnetic end of the filler or screw whatever you want to call it...lol

Transmission Flush Update

Just an fyi...i see a big difference. The transition of gears is a LOT smoother. I even see a difference when I put my car in drive from starting it. I am really glad I did it. I took it for a test on this little hill and it just went up it without a problem. In comparison to when it used to pause for a second, jerk hard, then change gears or go...whatever it was doing lol. Thanks...I'm just curious am I supposed to change the oil 3x or 4x? I've only did it 3, so just asking...

Three times will replace about 75% of the fluid, which is the suggestion if your fluid is dirty. After that, you can do one drain/refill every 30K miles.
