Immobiler System Problem
Hello Everyone, I am new to the forum. I have a 1999 Accord V-6 that has problem with the Immobilizer I believe. When driving along at a steady speed the engine will suddenly die. After pulling over to the side it usually starts right up. This has happened 4 time in the last year. Yesterday it did the same thing twice, when it did it the second time it was at night and I noticed the immobilizer system light flashing.
Has anyone else had a similar problem and if so what did you do to repair it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks: Bob J |

Has the ignition switch recall been done? That's what it sounds like.

RE: Immobiler System Problem
that isn't the immobilizer. Once the car ID's the key as being the correct one, the immobilizer allows the car to START and the ECU takes it from there.
Like Chiovnidca said it is most likely your ignition switch that has failed. Symptoms include sudden stalling when driving the car. You need to take your car to your local honda dealer and check to see if the recall was done and if not get it done, If it was done, see if you can get a good will repair done. |
