Increasing Performance

Hi All,

I have a 2008 Accord V6. Does anyone one know ways of increasing performance? I was reading about increased air intake and exhaust improvement as possible places to start. I read somewhere that headers can't be done on an 08 Accord. Any truth to this?

Fact of life, Honda does a pretty darn good job of designing the intake and exhaust plumbing; changing the intake and exhaust will only yield minimal gain in output (and only up near redline at wide open throttle). The issue here is changing the intake and exhaust typically rob from Peter to pay Paul in that any minimal gains up near redline are usually offset by losses in mid range torque.

Long story short, if you want a faster car, the best/cheapest/easiest way to get one is to sell your car and buy a car designed by its manufacturer to be faster.

really depends on what your goals are.

Always best to outline what your goals are, and what your budget is. If you just want a little more pep and some sound then thats not hard. But gaining any significant amount of power is going to be costly.

Since it is your car, whether there is any significant performance gain or not, if you got the itch, you can add a j-pipe and other items. Places like heeltoeauto have various aftermarket products to give you some ideas.

That's pretty much what I'm after: just a little more pep. Sound would be nice too as long as it's not the loud buzz I hear in a lot of mods.
