Installing Muffler.

End of the month is coming up real soon and I still haven't gotten a muffler for inspection. Thinking about going tomorrow and buying a cheap one for the time being and the muffler i'm looking at doesn't have the parts for the hangers like the stock one does. How do I get this thing mounted and held in place? I have installed exhausts/mufflers before but they didn't have these hangers there.

AdvanceAuto has the Walker one with hangers for 104.99 add coupon DOW22 and it would be $65 if your looking for a cheap replacement with hangers thats not bad. Not worth in my opinion to save $25 and trying to deal with having someone weld hangers on.

I agree with moey on that..if you have the money get it done right..why pay twice for the same thing..

GoodDay...WheelBrokerAng :)

That's the thing. I just replaced the battery and had my oil leaks fixed not to long ago so all that has set me back. Only reason I'm looking for a cheap replacement for now is to pass inspection it's just hanging it is my only concern.

If you have access to welding equipment you could take the old hangers off and weld them on the new muffler. Other then that it would cost more to buy a cheap muffler and try and make it work. Your talking about $25 to $30 difference. That would get eaten up quickly paying someone to weld hangers.

Alright well I pretty much went ahead and went against what you guys suggested (Sorry). I just went ahead and bought a thrush turbo muffler for like $32. I'm going to take the old hangers off and just have them welded on or just see if I could get some other hangers to keep the muffler in place. Only problem now is the new muffler is much small than the stock one and need to find an extension for the outlet.

Muffler is installed now. I thought it would end up having a bad sound but it sounds great and its quiet again.
