My daughter has a 2004 accord the instrument pannel lights do not work(heat, fan setting ,air ect.)When she turns the head lights on at night they don't light up.Should I check a fuse or something else? Please help! Thanks Dana B

on '97 the lights showing where the air/heat is routed (windshield, dash, floor) don't light up at night either.
seems like a goof in user-friendly design, but living with it.

The bulbs that light up those buttons are probably burned out. I replaced the bulbs on my 1996 car with Radio Shack part number 272-1092. I'm pretty sure your 2004 car uses the same bulbs. The radio will have to be removed to get to the bulbs.

Usually this is due to a faulty circuit board in the audio unit. Honda issued technical service bulletins regarding the problem.

This first TSB was superseded; but, I included it to give more info.
Old Honda TSB 04-027 -- The replacement circuit boards are no longer separately available for purchase.

This next was the subsequent TSB regarding the problem: Honda TSB 04-027

The next link, is for someone fixing the problem himself, at his own risk:
