1998 honda accord. Distributor ears breaking off
Haveing issues after replacing head ann timing belts. Car wont start and the distributor ears broke off. I adjusted the valves and made sure i was on top dead center before i put everything back together. Any ideas help please

Bring everything back up to #1 cylinder. You can use the timing marks on the cam, and crank to verify you're there. With a new distributor in hand, look in the hole in the head where the distributor goes, and note which side the offset line is (it'll have a large half and a small half of the circle) and match the drive of the distributor to that of the cam. If you don't match it, you keep breaking ears off when you bolt it back on. Basically what you were doing was trying to install the distributor 180* out. The offset of that circle is the KEY to installing the distributor correctly.
