Hey my accord has over 200K and im thinking about buying one of those SOHC star motors off ebay, does anyone know much about them? HP Output, Quality, and Difficulty of installation? Or does anyone know of any other motors that will fit, with or without minor mods? Any and all help is much apreciated. I have acctually been thinkin about gettn rid of it bc the motors gonna be krap here soon but i just love the car too much.

i have no idea what a "star" motor is
f22b/1/2(obviously)
h22a/1/4
h23a/1
f20b

all those motors work with little to no modifications

you can get k series motors to work with a fair amount of modification

So a J-Spec Honda engine? One with less emission standards, so it gets better performance and creates more pollution?

I dunno, never heard of the Star Motors either, but I would assume a Star Motor is a Mitsubishi motor since they are Diamond Star Motors.

Just a thought I had on that.

the jdm motors usually have way more miles than the "35k" they claim, that number is complete BS they have no idea how many miles are on it.

if i were to get one i would go through hmotorsonine.com

Ok cool. ill check it out. yeah im looking for a new motor and if i could find one from the same or even different car that would work, and has better perf. than the standard f22b2 thatd be cool. im acctually kind of thinking about doing a tranny swap and going to a manual. so ill prolly have to change out the harness to, correct? and if im going to do that i mite as well get a better engine, one with more output.

I think that would be a better motor to use also..you wont be able to get a non complience motor approved by emmission standards approved over here in the USA...

sweet, yeah i was looking on a different thread and someone mentioned that the f20 was like a destroked h22, also what do you think would happen to my MPG after the swap?

live2rice 09-02-2008 08:26 PM

RE: jap. star motor in my 94 accord

f20b is a destroked h22, you will get low to mid 20s and you have to run 91+octane gas
