late shifting help!!

'84 accord 1.8lr, auto with 160k miles,
delayed upshifting before normal operating temp is reached, as soon as the temp gauge reads its average operating range the car shifts normal. and it doesnt matter if its is warmed up in park or while driving so it seams to be a control solenoid or something, rather then a fluid pressure issue. im just not sure what to look for that controls the shifting aside from the TV cable adjustment and that doesnt seam to help during the warm up period. once it is up to temp it shifts perfect, no slipping or anything. any ideas on what to look for?

The seal on the governor inside the trans is known to cause that problem;
It's probably about a $2 part that will take 6 hours to replace.

i agree with DUDE it sounds like an internal tranny issue
