Lock door with inside lock and it unlocks when closed

I have a 2013 Accord EX-L V6 which uses an FOB. When I open the door of the car I push the locking mechanism next to the inside door opener. When I step out of the car and close it most times it will remain locked, but recently I've noticed that it will unlock itself after closing the door. This has only started happening recently and it occurs about 3-4 out of 10 times. I'm closing with my hand on the window or plastic and not on the metal, and I'm standing a foot away from the car. It makes no sense. Anyone have any ideas on what this problem could be?

When you close the door try holding the handle in the "open" position until the catch clicks home.

That doesn't work. The second you touch the outer door handle the door unlocks. Besides, it was working before as I described and it should still work. Something has changed.

Have you called your local dealer and asked to see if there has been a service bulletin posted for the problem you describe? There have been service bulletins posted for other Hondas regarding door lock issues, and it may be worth noting with both the dealer and with Honda Motor Corp. Your car is new and you may find that working with the dealer and if needed Honda Corp. you will get the problem resolved for a low price and potentially for free.

Thanks. That was my next step. It should be under warranty. I just figure they won't know. But as it was only occasional (3-4 times out of 10), yesterday it did it several times, so it may be permanent now.
