Low Beam Headlights out
 

Both my Low Beam headlights are out all of a sudden. Brights work just fine. Checked the obvious, bulbs, fuse and relays. The relays "Click" so I am assuming they are good as is the switch. Any thoughts?

Don't even know what year your car is so.......


Pull the connector from the bulb and confirm voltage and ground...what is missing. Then PLEASE tell us what year car we are dealing with.....one of the reasons we ask members to put their car info in their signature - then display said signature...See mine :)

Update .... I pulled the plug and checked voltage on one of the low beam headlights. I had to check 3 times because I had voltage at the plug! It kinda blows me away that both bulbs would blow at the same time but that is what I am leaning toward at this point. However, to look at the bulb, it appears good (not black and filament looks good) I tried to get the high beam bulb out to swap out with the low to verify bad bulb but ran out of daylight, will try again tonight. If it is both bulbs, I am thinking I may have a short problem or something causing a voltage spike to blow both. Maybe my voltage regulator going bad?

the bulbs are different and they should not be swapped. the bulb can look fine, but you can verify with a continuity check. my guess would be a defective combination switch.

I did check continuity and there is none. Replaced one bulb to make sure before I bought two and it works. Strange both blew like that and to look at the bulb, you can't tell it is blown, the filament looks fine and the bulb isn't dis-colored. I'll replace the other one tonight and give it some time.
