if you are laying on the ground looking up it should be directly above the oil filter. It has a little rubber boot that covers part of it.

Ok, thanks - going out to have a look now.

Going on a tool run - don't have a socket big enough and you can't get in there with a wrench.

Ok, any tips for getting that damn boot & connector off? I took off the oil filter for better access, but I'll be damned if I can get that thing off.

I think that I used pliers or a screwdriver and pried a bit.

yeah, i believe it's a 24mm socket.

most of the time the boot gets hard as a rock. becareful taking it off since the connector is underneath it. it's just a push on connector, no special release tab. but the hardened boot makes it difficult to get it off. we have no choice but to cut the boot or break the boot off in such a way so you don't hurt that connector.

26mm actually - well, at least for the new part in my pocket. Which Sears didn't have in stock in a deep. But a 1 1/16 seems to fit well

Yea, I'm thinking it may come to that. Then maybe some liquid electrical tape to put it back together - and hope I never have to take it off again.
Thanks.

Well, finally got it off - Hondatechav6 was right - the boot was very hard and brittle and it eventually tore. Had to almost chisel the rest of it off the sensor. And there was oil in the boot.

He was right about the 24mm also - the original sensor is 24mm. I've attached a picture below comparing the old & new sensors, and a shot of the location for anybody that's curious.

So it's installed - hope I didn't pull to hard on the Al block - forgot I wasn't wrenching on the cruiser for a bit. Only concern is the electrical connector - it's not very tight at all. I tried it on the old one and it's about the same - but it doesn't feel like it's going to stay on to well all by itself. Cay you get a replacement boot.

Anyway - I'm going to take a ride and see if it behaves.

I'd imagine with the common issues with that boot that most local dealers should be able to get them fairly cheap.... Great post, and thanks for the pics, let us know the results!

Ok - drove into town & back - about 20 miles with a 30 minute stop at the grocery store. No light at all!

Of course, now I'm paranoid about that connection. Anybody know if the sensor makes the connection with a low pressure condition, or breaks the connection with a low pressure condition? What I'm getting at is if that connection pops off or is loose, will the light come on? Or will it just silently not work? The engine is to hot right now, but I may try pulling it tomorrow and see what happens. Maybe an experiment with the air compressor, multimeter and the old part is in order as well.

Is there a factory service manual or electrical wiring diagram available for these?
