Lowered Suspension Collateral Damage?
 

Soon I will be replacing my aftermarket suspension on my 1997 Honda Accord LX coupe with OEM struts and springs. The car was lowered with cheap "coil-overs" on stock struts by the previous owner. After about 3 years, the rideis absolutely horrible. All four struts are toast. I even get a non-friendly clank from the rear left on bumps.I am curious about collateral damage to other suspension components.

When replacing the struts and springs, what else should i be looking for? The car basically was lowered about 2" all the way around on all stock parts. What else could be damaged/worn due to the low ride for so long?

When it comes to suspension, I am far from a genius. :)

I would check bushings and also make sure no arms are visibly bent. With the suspension, the spring and dampers take most of the energy, the arms are just there to allow everything to move along the correct geometric path. Just get the springs and dampers replaced and try and tell if anything seems out of whack.

Thank you for the input. I'll check into those.

I was told that i would need to replace the "top plate" above the struts. A part that supposively holds the spring down. Does anyone know specifically what this part is called and where I can get them?
