maint re'q?

I never got an owners manual with my 05 accord coupe and i haven't found anything else on it, but anyways my MAINT RE'Q light came on in my dash. Is it a check engine light, or reccomended service type light?

Also, if I need to unhook the battery how do I find out the radio code for the stock radio? Its the premium 6disc indash, no nav, and dual zone controls.

it's a light reminding you to change the oil. I believe on your year, you put the key in the ignition, press your trip/reset button (with the ignition off) keep the button pressed as you turn the key to the ON position (dont crank it) wait about 10 to 15 seconds and your light should either blink or go out...after that, turn the key off for a couple seconds then start it up to make sure the light stays off. :)

I have no idea about the radio code, but you don't need to unhook your battery, so u should be good on that front. :)

You can get a Honda dealer to look it up. I found a site on line to retrieve it also but I don’t remember the address. On my 2003 Accord Honda did the recall for the radio display and I had to call the dealer as the code changed with the update.

Not your typical Maint Req light thread.....I wanna know.... Has anyone figured out how to display the mileage on this BEFORE the light comes on?

No way of displaying the mileage to my knowledge. It trips how ever often the oil change interval is in the manual. I recently found out it will also flash at specific maintenance intervals as well, grandparents '05 flashed for their 60k service.

You can get the radio code by calling a dealer, giving them the serail on the radio or VIN and providing proof you own the vehicle. You can also get it online through Honda Owner Link. www.ahm-ownerlink.com
