maintenance light question
 

well I already looked up how to reset the main. req. light on my 05 accord. My question is first the light would only blink for like 5 seconds when I started the car but the other day it went solid and has stayed on since. I was wondering is that just a warning to say that the oil really needs to be changed? or something else is wrong.

p.s. I changed oil maybe 2000 miles ago just forgot to reset light

I don't remember which year the "maintenance minder" started. Does it show oil life in percentage counting down towards 0%?

Lets say it's NOT the % oil computer...

Key OFF
Press & hold the odometer reset button
Continue holding that button while you turn the key ON (no need to start engine)
Continue holding that button for something like 20 seconds more
Light will blink a few times then stay off.

When you changed oil 2000 miles back the maintenance lamp probably was not lit, so you wouldn't have been able to reset it back then.
