MAP Sensor. 1997. Is cleaning or preventive maintenance possible?
Would like to know if there is any preventive maintenance or cleaning that can be done.
Or is the MAP Sensor just replaced when/if they go bad?
thank you for any help.

I've been on this forum for a long time, and I don't see failed map sensors very often. I would not preemptively replace that sensor.
The only preventative maintenance on the map sensor would be replacing the o-ring to make sure the sensor is not causing a vacuum leak. You might want to look at the sensor to see if there is any carbon buildup on the sensor part. I remember mine being pretty clean after 300K miles on my 95.
You could look at the sensor output using an OBD2 scanner. I'm not sure it would predict a sensor starting to fail. I'd say a reasonable value at vacuum with little to slight fluctuation would indicate a properly working sensor.
Is your car having some problem that you are trying to correct?

Are you having issues with engine rpm when it is warming up?
The idle should be at 700 rpm +/- 50 rpm when the engine is completely warmed up. Be careful looking at your tachometer, because the first mark past zero is 500 rpm. The 94-97 accords skipped the 250 rpm mark, even though the scale jumps 250 rpm between each mark.
You don't want to mess with the idle screw unless done in a specified way.

Not really. I recently bought the car and it has a 5 speed. RPM seems fairly low and once in a while I stall it if I don't give a little extra throttle (been driving standard transmissions for over 40 years)
I'll check the idle rpm next time I drive the car.
Thanks
