Default Mixing transmission fluids

I've gone back and read many threads about Honda transmission fluid, but couldn't find this specific question answered.

I stopped by see my mechanic and he topped off the fluids for me, but like a lot of independent mechanics he doesn't use fluid made by Honda.

I only have about 35,000 on my car and the maintenance minder hasn't hit me up to change the transmission fluid yet. So he basically added 1/2 quart of Castrol Transmax Import AFT (made for Hondas) tothe original Honda AFT.

The owner's manual makes this sound like a great big mistake, but is it really that big of a deal? I know the members here are big on using the fluid made by Honda, but will the mixture actually cause any problems?

1/2 quart of transmission fluid made for honda into about 8 quarts of OEM Honda transmission fluid should not be an issue.

Why is your low mile car down 1/2 qt? I would tell your tech to back off and use honda fluids of your choice on your car.
