motor swap harness question

Hello all. I just swapped out a motor on a 1996 accord 5-speed. The used motor is out of an automatic and I just realized that the engine harness from the automatic has 4 more various connectors, (passenger side, a total of 19), vs the old engine which has only 15. Do I need to swap harnesses or can the 4 extras just remain unused?

Thanks for any advice!

Pretty sure they can just be left alone.

Yup, that's my intuition. Should know in about an hour. Thank you.

My guess...lock up solenoid, shift solenoid, main shaft and counter shaft sensors

Well, motor started right up but can't get it to Rev past 2800 rpms. It just fluctuates from there. Coolant is topped off and thermostat has opened a dozen times, so I believe there is zero air in the system. Scratching my head, lol.

Check that you did not switch the map and tps connectors.

I remember that my old 95 accord had some similar connectors near the passenger shock mount in the engine bay. Wire colors should match up.

Another place you can accidentally switch connectors is the injector resistor bank. The injector resistor connector has 5 red (or red/blk) wire going into it.

Hmmm. Will check those in a few mins ...

Not sure about this, but did you swap the ECU? Vaguely remember something about the VSS being different for auto vs. manual. I think there's a rev-limiter active when there's no signal from the VSS, just so you can't over-rev when the car isn't moving.

I would have used the old harness not the new one, but thats just me. But I agree with PA honda as that is a good place to start.

Crap. I figured the harness with the used automatic motor would have swapped over to a 5-speed and it's ECU. So now thinking swap harnesses??? MAP and TPS connectors are correct. I did not swap the ECU from the donor automatic to my 5-speed.
