My Mom killed my 89 honda part 2
 

First off thanks to poorman212 and PAhonda for their quick response...

As I'm trying to bring back to life my Honda that my mom destroyed I have learned from the past that once a engine overheats the Tranny fluid is most likely no good. I was looking for the tranny dipstick and couldn't find it could anyone help me with this? 89 honda Accord 2.0 LX-I

... unless you have a manual trans. Then there is no dipstick.

Tranny fluid
 

Is the Tranny fluid meant to be changed? I was under the impression that all cars needed it to be changed every 30K or so I'm I wrong? Also thanks for the graphic...Is there a place on the web were I could get a full electrical diagram and vacuum hose schematic besides paying for it at Alldata it would be nice to get them for free.

Look in the DIY section for a thread about on-line manuals.

Trans fluid...Yes both the manual and auto trans fluid needs to be changed. The drain is on the right/pass side-round on the outside with a 3/8 square hole-3/8 ratchet to remove the bolt. If an auto, fill thru the dipstick hole-if a manual there is a fill bolt on the side of the trans, you'll need a hose to "snake" into the fill bolt. Mainly, IMO, the auto trans models need to have the trans fluid changed as they have the cooler in the rad and auto trans fluid is less forgiving when it comes to heat.

If you need help on hose or wire locations that you cannot find by the manual, let me know....I've got an 88 and 89 LXi in auto and manual trans.
