Is my motor mount headed for toastage?

So I accidentally spilled some brake fluid on a motor mount. The driver side to be exact on the '09. I started to freak out because I thought it would destroy the rubber so I wiped as much as I could (not much) and then I used my hose to rinse water over it for about ten seconds.

To my knowledge DOT3 brake fluid is not oil, it's not petroleum based right? It sure does feel oily on the fingers though. How would there be rubber seals within the MC and rubber on the brake fluid cap if it was going to damage it? So I'm hoping everything is fine. Could the water have done anything to it? Again I'm hoping no. The big worry is that the rubber is something special that brake fluid destroys.

So u spilled brake fluid on the rubber part of the motor mount and your wondering if it can hurt it? I'm pretty sure they make "motor mounts" strong enough to handle alittle brake fluid and water on them. They hold your motor in there. And normally the rubber is there for vibration reduction . They should be steel reinforced with rubber in the outside

Doubt you did any damage given the cleaning you performed.

In any case the driver's side motor mount is easy to replace and inexpensive.

good luck

Brake fluid is completely soluable in water, so rinsing with water was the perfect thing to do. Seems that stuff is more damaging to paint than it is to rubber.
