Default Need help with removing an actuator

I've got a 2004 Accord EX-L coupe and I've gotten to the actually assembly however I can't seem to remove it. I have removed one latch however there is a brass rod from the handle going to the assembly holding it in there denying me access. I am at a loss what to do because I can't seem to find enough information online as to how to actually get it off so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need to provide more information for help. Just what mechanism does the "actuator" actuate; brakes, clutch, steering, etc?

good luck

I'm sorry I meant for the driver side door it was for the locking mechanism

Just to get a better understanding here is what I'm looking at. I've sucessfully removed the smaller silver rod however the one keeping the whole thing in there is the brass/golden looking one and there doesn't seem any way to remove it from the handle.

Shop manual indicates the part should come out w/ latch assy. Rod is the outer handle rod and likely must be disconnected at outer handle. Same for the door manual lock cable (gray cable at bottom I think).

A shop manual may be helpful. You can download one from automanualsource.com for $22.

good luck
