New power steering pump at 40K???

I took my 2003 Accord coupe V6 in to repair a heated seat and asked them to check into my Whiney sounding streering. The told me I need a new PS pump. (Warranty work BTW, I would do it myself otherwise....). Is this a common problem? They dont build these things like they used to back in the 80's.

Never heard of it at my dealership. Could be a fluke.

I have an '03 EX-V6 and just this week it developed a whine from the PS pump. Still under warranty (barely) so I guess I had better get it checked out!!

They replaced mine but its still whining. I dont know if its the stealership screwing up or what but I'm trying another stealership. Fortunately there are 2 Honda stealerships within the same distance from me. Keep me posted as to your problem. Thanks

98-02 Accords do go through alternators pretty bad. Gotta love GM parts(Delphi.)
