Default New user in need of help (or new engine)

Hi, I'm a new user here. I have a 1986 Honda Accord Hatchback LXi. It has 243,239 miles on it, and yesterday she threw a rod. It was a painful and scary moment, but we got a tow truck to come and now she is home, safe and sound. I wanted to ask if anyone has a fuel injected or knows a good place to buy one. Or if, because of the mileage, would it be worth it to rebuild it? She's my only independent transportation right now, and I need her for work.

As a general rule, engines which have thrown a rod are not rebuildable. I recommend looking in a local bone yard (auto recycler) and buying a replacement engine. You can also check car-part.com for used motors.

I'm going to move this over to General Tech where more people will probably see it. The "new member" area is mostly for welcome & introductions.

ebay is a good source for used parts and includes some buyer protection features. I found following:

good luck
