newer type filters

What is the difference (performance wise) between the older style oil filter 15400-PR3-004 and the newer one 15400PLMA01 ? I know it’s too much to assume, but I am hoping that Honda made improvements to the filter other then cutting costs [:-]
Also how does Nippon filter stacks up compare to KFM?
Thanks,

Honda doesnt manufacture filters on thier own, they contract out to different companies to manufacture them, some are made by fram, some champion labs etc..top 4best filters for the money that will give you worry free filtration are Mobil 1, K&N, Purolator, and WIX

doing a quick search for that latter part number indicates that it's probably a Filtech airfilter. I would probably go buy a purolator or Wix. If you're tired of buying them all the time then just get a K&N then never buy another airfilter (they're cleanable and re-usable). Cheaper in the long run, more money upfront (probably about $30 or $40)

I believe the orginal question concerned oil filters, not air filters.

The new Amsoil filters are pretty good. They would be more than enough for regular oil change intervals.
