Is it better to pull engine/trans out together or leave trans in car?

I typically leave the transmission in the car unless it needs attention as well.

looked into motor after it was taken out. found balance shaft belt broken and timing marks were out about 90* so im sure there are alot of bent valves. im wondering if i should get this motor repaired and keep it for a spare since i also own a 200 accord. you guys think its worth it to fix it? thanks again for all the advice.

What's the alternative? If you don't repair the motor were you thinking of replacing it with an used engine?

Motor has been swapped. Was wondering if its worth fixing and keeping this one as a spare since there are a couple accords in the family.

You'll have to judge the hassle of storing an engine. You'll have to keep the coolant passages & waterpump protected from corrosion (there's some steel stuff in there)

Besides, when you remove the head and see the extent of damage it might be bad-enough you don't want to save it.
