could be the igniter,,,,there are write ups on the DIY section on how to test it ,,,,,,but if it is bad, car will not start even when push started

http://www.techautorepairs.com/ignition.html

also......read the code and post it here..

thanks for the response desert honda .quick question .did the paperclip jumper to check codes .i got 73 seven slow blinks and three fast ones ..after my wife push started me she ran for about 1/4 mile couldnt give it much gas it would die .then check engine light came on that was it died again .towed it home .i did the test turn on the key check engine light comes on 2 seconds then its suppose to go off .but it stays on .is this because the check engine light came on .now it will stay on till fixed .thanks again for youre time.

That is a misfire for cylinder number 3 (OBD2 code is P0303).

If the spark plugs have not been changed in a while, change them. Always use the NGKs that are recommended in the shop manual. Also inspect the spark plug wires, distributor cap and distributor rotor.

ok hears an update got fire from coil got fire to the little button inside the cap from coil.but no fire from cap to spark plugs .will a disturbitor cap and rotor completely fail were fire wont get threw:confused: or is my coil to weak

I would replace the distributor cap and rotor if they haven't been changed in 2 years or 40K miles. They can wear out over time.
