Odometer/tripmeter on 96 Accord
Hope you can help me out...
Today the odometer and tripmeter stopped working exactly when the odometer was changing to 137,000 miles on my 1996 Honda Accord. The speedometer still works fine. Any idea how to fix this and how difficult is it? Any idea how much it would be to have somebody fix it for me? Thanks! |

Worst case the entire cluster will need to get changed out, easy to do, you have to decide if a used one is for your pocket book, also your state may require paperwork to prove out the original milage???
I would pull it out and see if there is a cable drive from the speedo motor to drive a mechanical gear setup to the ODO unless someone here already knows better. |

is it stuck? try hittin the dash above it. sounds ghetto, but you never know. mine used to lag when it would flip the big numbers.

Smag, do you have a little TV that works on top of a wood encased one with a green screen?

no...i spend money like its water on electronics...i watch on a bravia 32"
seriously though, it never hurts to give it a smack and utter a couple of 4-letter words. |

Plus it makes you feel better. Even if it doesn't help.

Smaglik:
Well, I am very thankful - after a few minutes of banging on the dash, it started working again. Thanks for the help - I can't believe it worked. |
