oil burning or losing

I have 144 k on my honda accord 95 A/T 4 cylinder. In my last oil change at 4000 miles interval, I had much darker oil than before. Recently, I have not been driving much since I lost job. So my car has been sitting in garage most of days. I noticed that that on my dip stick check, I have lost 1/4 oil. my car Oil type is 10w30.

Long time ago, I had bought Oil Saver (McKay brand) (never used it) which says, "It blends with motor oil and harmless to all engines. Stops oil burning, reduces engine wear, increases compression. Will this fix my problem or it can cause more damage to my engine? I am suppose to add this entire bottle while engine is warm idiling. Is it ok to add this oil additive?

Thanks,

Donda

Never heard of that stuff. Maybe OK, maybe won't fix anything.

When you drive short trips, the oil gets darker just because there's a larger number of starts for the same miles.
