have you adjusted the door striker ???

I am assuming this is the silver latch on the door frame?

This happens to me every 3 to 4 months on the side of my car that was in an accident. I take a hammer and a pole and gently slide it up or down, I cant remember. I never can get the screws tight enough with just hand tools.
