Got this code on my son's 02 V6 coupe after the ECL and TCS lights lit up. Went ahead and looked it up code is clogged or insufficient flow on the EGR. Removed the intake manifold and cleaned the heck out of it with throttle body cleaner. Sorry forgot to post pictures but it's very easy.

FYI - there is a fix for the EGR clogging problem on your V6. The EGR port on the intake is honed out with a special bit and a stainless steel tube is then inserted. There is a special kit available for this job.

yup I've read about that but you have to drill to open the hole a little bit for the stainless tube to fit

Yea, a co-worker had the same issue.

He didn't use the "kit" either - BTW Dorman Products sells the kit also. He pulled the intake and cleaned it, I think he used a "pipe cleaner" brush as well. Put it all back together and has been driving issue free for several months.

I'm a bit curious how this works out. Just to compare with or without the kit, how long it lasts before it gets clogged up again.

In my real life I've had to deal with a situation where certain temperatures & pressure promote coking of a carbon-rich gas. And certain metals are good catalysts to promote the coking to happen even faster. So maybe that "stainless" tube is made of a particular metal that slows down the process.
