Parts Help

Hello there again.

Just had a question about parts. First questions is.... I'm doing a timing belt and water pump replacement on my 06 Honda Accord 3.0 V6. and wanting to know if it is best to go through Honda for the parts? I have heard that when doing the timing belt and water pump job it should be genuine Honda parts. Is this true or is it just B.S? Also what other parts should I replace wile I'm in there? I really don't want to buy and replace parts if I don't need to. Lastly is there a good place to buy parts online? Thanks For Your Help:confused:

can beat o.e. parts, but gates makes a complete timing component kit with waterpump.

yea that is true I am just wondering if it worth saving the money and going with parts from an Auto Zone or ORiley auto or Napa. The cost is less then half then with o.e parts.

I'm a Gates fan, long story....So IMHO, either Gates or OE. Your choice at the end of the day.

OEM.... worth the extra cash...

its what your car came with....why put afte market part on something like a timing belt?

What about buying online? If so where do I need to go.

I've gotten stuff over the years from Majestic Honda
www dot hondaautomotiveparts dot com

But do your homework on shipping costs. Sometimes the shipping cost is higher than you'd expect. And sometimes your local dealer will charge less than what Majestic lists as the "retail" price. Either way, I've occasionally found it cheaper to buy from the local dealer.

I've also got a local car-parts shop (not a chain-store) that normally gets GOOD aftermarket parts, like Gates belts.

What do you think about ebay. I found some timing kits on there. For around 200 not a ba deal with free shipping. They clame it's oem parts. How do you feel about that?
