Permanent fix stripped oil pan plug

this will permenantly repair the oil drip issue from the oil pan plug after it has been stripped, no need to replace the oil pan.

You need a time-sert kit # 1415 from Matco tools
inserts 14 by 1.5
all the instructions will be included in the kit..

you also need a permanent oil valve , it is spring loaded, so you never have to remove it,, you can get the valve at,,,
http://www.fumotovalve.com/ ....or 1-425-869-7771.... the valve you need is F-106..

i have done dozens of these and they work great, you can also install these instead of the regular plug before they get damaged , thus avoiding future complications,, especially if you take the car to those quick lube places..

I love that idea but knowing my luck a rock will knock that valve open

yea i would also always recommend changing out the pan or having it retapped if the bolt is ever stripped. knowing the pure incompetence of jiffy lube they will have all your oil leak out and ruin your motor.

if you install it properly, the lever is protected by the pan, it would have to be a freak of nature for a rock to hit it..

furthermore, to open the valve. you got to push the lever up and swing it over,,

Like i said i have installed a **** load of these and have had no problem,,

As a matter of facts i put one on my 2003 accord at the first oil change,,

I have saved customer a bunch of money doing this,, after they were quoted over 300 dollars by the dealer to replace the oil pan..

Hey...they is a very cool idea. I think I will buy one of those valves.

Desert...what do you mean by this:

"You need a time-sert kit # 1415 from Matco tools

Sorry...I don't know what a time-sert kit is and why I would need it.

Thanks bro

peace out,
daddy

if you go to the link that Marbro provided you will see what i mean,, First you need to make the original hole bigger, than you got to thread it, the insert you will be getting , the outer threads are bigger than inner threads, so it will screw into the new tapped threads,, put some locktite on the new insert so it won't unscrew,, countrsink it. install the valve , make sure the lever faces up ,behing the oil pan, so it is protected by the oil pan ..

Do those drain plugs commonly get stripped? I know that the one in my mom's civic is pretty close to being stripped. I actually went out and bought another drain plug for the next time i change the oil cause it isn't looking so good.

Its something that eventually happens but usually over torquing it causes more wear
