Please help! Alternator harness
 

Hello, Can someone please help me figure out the right order for the clip that connects to the alternator on my 98' Accord LX. If you could please take the time to see which order the terminals go I would greatly appreciate it. I just got done fixing up my car and the only thing keeping me from driving it is this. The heat from the turbo it had cracked the clip so i removed it and lost the order.

Wire colors are:

green/white
black/yellow
red/white
blue/white

I hate the fact that there aren't very many generous people to go out their way and help someone out with something they're capable of doing and yet something that will not cost them money but a bit of their time.

I don't have a good shop manual for a 98 US made accord.

I am sure that the blk/yel wire is the power source from the ignition switch.

That is an adapter for your alternator. The site claims that it fits my 05 TSX. Based on my 05 TSX, I attached the connector pic.

FYI, this pinout is for my TSX.

Thank you very much, I appreciate you taking time to help me out. I had tried going off of that but once i turned my car on with it hooked up with the ebay picture order and the order of your car I cranked over the car and unplugged the battery and it died out, meaning it didnt work :/

Your battery must be installed for the car to run. This isn't like older cars where they can run off of the alternator.

It was running off the alternator tho, thats how i figured my alternator was still good then i decided to unplug them like a dumbass and mixed up the order :./

The car has to have the battery connected to run.

I would stop by a junkyard to see the order of how they are connected. Or look at some recent posts with people having a 98 LX and send them a PM.

i was also under the impression, that the car only needs the battery to start, after that the alternator ran electronics and charged the battery.

this was true for my 02 sentra and 05 impala, not older vehicles

ANY car can run on the alternator, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

The voltage regulation needs a large "reservoir" - the battery. Without it, you have a lot more voltage spikes which occasionally will fry your computers. Not always, not guaranteed disaster, but still not a good idea.

2nd that, i was only trying to confirm it as a option to test if alternator is good or bad.

i have always heard of and used the unplugging of the positive battery cable as a test for alternator failure. on older and newer vehicles.
