Power Steering Fluid

2009 Accord V6 actually turned 124,000 miles today! Power steering fluid is at the low line and I was thinking about having the dealer do a "fluid transfer/change" is this a waste of money? Should I just buy a bottle and bring it up to full? Also thinking about simply sucking out as much as I could with maybe a syringe or something and then re-filling...Again, should I even worry about doing that? I've never attempted a "transfer" myself where I bled out the lines and everything, don't really want to try it now. What to do, what to do???

I refuse to believe that any working fluid is good FOREVER. But I've drained mine and wondered if it was worth the effort...

If you drain the rack & lines to get a good clean fill, you will struggle with fluid foaming for awhile. That's what happened to me, it takes forever for the fine bubbles to settle out.

Here's a compromise:
Drain the reservoir, disconnect hoses & remove the reservoir. There's a fine mesh screen down low in the reservoir, clean that (soap/water) and dry it out really good. Put it back & fill it. It'll still mix with the dirty fluid remaining in the rack, but it's better than simply topping it off.

Remember the PS fluid is special for Honda/Acura. Don't use the stuff that says "all makes/models".
