Power steering fluid leak
I can't find where my power steering fluid is leaking. I'm also not able to successfully recharge my AC. Could these two be related? I have a 2000 honda accord SE 4 door. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

They are not related IMO.
Look for PS leaks at ends of rack, PS pump shaft, hp hose crimps. Check garage floor for drops of oil where you park. AC won't take refrigerant when compressor is not working. It may not be working because pressure is so low the low pressure cut-out prevents compressor from working. This usually means a large leakage has occurred. Have you inspected for leaks; oily/dirty marks on condensor face, hose crimps, connections, compressor clutch rotation plane (dirty ring of slung out oil shows leak). good luck |
Thanks for the reply. I have given up on the AC unit since I used multiple recharge cans last summer.
AS for the PS pump I have not seen any leaks on the ground and the hoses seem intact. |
If you're losing PS fluid regularly, it's leaking somewhere. Close inspection required to find leaks at steering rack boots (may be accumulating in boots).
good luck |
