Default What's up with my Charging system?

Hey Guy's I have a 96 Accord Lx 2.2 auto. I seems to be haveing some sort of charging system problem? I start the car up when I'm leaving for work, now grant it I am loading up the system with lights charging the phone, heated seat, rear defroster etc. What seems to happen is the lights begin to dim and the belt starts to scream (it's tight) It will do this for a bit then return to normal? What's happening here? The car has high miles 240k. This happened with the original and I grabbed a JY special it was ok for a bit then started again? Is this the alternator going bad again?
Thanks in advance!

can't say, need some initial diagnosis while the car is doing this. alternator output? how old is the battery? how tight is tight for the belt? i can see the rear defroster and heated seat, but why the lights? does the car get lonely without them on? yes, i'm being a smart ****....

A couple thoughts...

How old is the belt? If it's hard & slippery with age, get a new one instead of over-tightening it.

With defrosters, it's probably running the AC compressor. Maybe THAT is what's squealing.

Ok, I'll jump off the cliff.

What was the reading on the alt?

Also, just me but the noise is still a concern.....as stated an old hard belt will slip...belt slips and the alt output goes down.
