Power steering valve housing leak... Any help?
 

Hello everyone, looking for some input on what my options are.
2005 Honda Accord 2.4L auto coupe 118k.

I purchased this car with the power steering leak. It doesn't pour out but after driving the car there is a couple drips on the ground. I finally found out where the leak is and it's right at the input shaft where the steering wheel shaft hook's up. One of the previous owners replaced the rack and didn't put the cover back on that covers the valve housing seal so dirt got in there and must have made the seal go bad "my best guess, otherwise the seal just went bad". I'm curious if I can replace just the valve housing with the rack in the car, just the seal or what options I have. The rest of the rack doesn't leak such as the inner tie rod seals. Any suggestions would be great - thank you in advance!

To replace the seal the rack needs to come out.....so you might be better off replacing the whole thing then chance just replacing the seal and having to be right back in there/
