Power windows not working

My 1990 Accord 4 door power windows stopped working. First all windows except the drivers stopped, then drivers window stopped. Fuses are okay and I pulled the relay and put 12 VDC to it. The relay was clicking but I did not have an ohm meter to check to see if the circuit is closing. Any suggestions on trouble shooting?
Thanks.

The fact that all but the driver's stopped working first points toward the driver's door switches. I'm thinking that the lock-out broke first and lead to a short that killed the switches. If I were you, I'd go to the junkyard to see if you can find another switch to try out.

Try moving the wiper speed dial to the middle position then crank the car.

Lol lol .. not everything gets fixed that way,,,, ;) it would be nice ...:)

Steve for the 3 windows exc the driver's... You by any chance don't have the switch turned off do you ??
on the main switch there is a little button that if flipped to the off position, pass and rear windows do not work,,

You hot wired the relay coil and made it click the switch closed, but you can hot wire the switch half, actually jumper it and forget about the coil half for now, you know it works. Actually you dont hot wire the relay, you pull the relay and hot wire the socket switch terminals on the car.

2Point ..... I know what you mean, but that post is confusing!

I know that,, But if you read what he said,, He said that first the other 3 windows did not work , then the driver side went out,

chk fuse # 33 dash fuse box 20 amp ..
chk both sides of the fuse for power , if you got power at both sides the relay is ok,,

alright, I just thought that you might have missed that item since you were asking about the lock-out switch.

I just suggestedthe wiper speed dialtrickcause it works sometimes, it takes 2 seconds, and it's free. Chiovnidca tells people to do it sometimes when their windows start acting up. From what I understand, it resets something within the window motors or something like that.

RE: Power windows not working

I will try again, a relay has four pins, two for the magnetic coil and two for the switch that sends power to the power window in this case. By the repair manual, you hot wire the coil and check the switch for continuity, this is done with the relay out of the car.

I said, skip that test until after you pull the relay out of the car, figure out which two teminals in the relay socket on the car are for the switch, one of them should be hot, so just jumper the hot side of the switch to the cold side of the switch and you have power to the power window in this case.

If the power window was to start working, THEN test the relay as per the repair manual to prove if it is (probably) working, this test is not 100% but fairly reliable.

Don't forget to check the connections and make sure they are still snug.

Wiper trick worked for me

I got somewhat confused with post so here is the solution step by step

1. Put the wiper intermittent to middle (taper one).
2. Put the wiper to intermittent setting (wiper has 3 settings int, I and II).
3. Put the key now in ignition and start the car.
4. At this time wiper will start working, let them run for few seconds (10-20 seconds).
5. Stop the car, by removing the key from ignition, bring back the wipers to off position.
6. Restart the car and power windows and mirror should be functional.

One additional thing is that there is on/off switch near the mirror setting, make sure it is on. This applies only for power mirror to be functional.
