Premium Shell gasoline

My 2011 Accord EX four cylinder is a great car with 80K on the clock.

There’s a lot of debate, but, should I run a tankful of premium gas every so often just to keep things clean? It doesn’t see much highway speeds. Mostly around town.

Or, just get a bottle of Lucas fuel injector cleaner and run it?

Thanks.

Do not use either Premium or Lucas; Regular gasoline has the same detergents as Premium and is more than enough to keep your injectors clean for the life of the vehicle or longer.

Ok, thanks. Always kinda wondered about premium gas. Advice taken.

I always buy premium petrol in the UK. Occasionally some 97 ron and a 'wee' top up with Redex as a treat. Supermarket 'gas' doesn't have any additives, which is OK for modern cars if you only plan to keep for a couple of years. Remember the top 15% of a tanker goes to make poly stuff, the other 45% goes to the big companies and the remaining 35% at the bottom of the tank is for the supermarket customers.

Not sure where you're getting your information, but here in the U.S. at least, little if anything of what you wrote holds true.
