PSI Help

I have new tires on my Accord. The Tire says max should be 44 PSI. My personal repair guy said to put it at 40. The sticker on the Honda says 32 PSI.

What should be the setting to get the maximum life on teh tires and gas miles?

I would go with 32.

i agree with PA.

I think the front is 32 and back is 30. Sounds ok?

Why does the tire say 44 then?

PAhonda Mar 11, 2010 06:36 PM

That is the maximum pressure that the tire can hold.

It doesn't mean its the optimal or recommended pressure.

44 is the MAX pressure you can use. The tire can fit other cars, which may have higher air pressure recommendations. Go by what the car is designed for.

When I worked as a mechanic it was 30 PSI and at one point Honda recommend 32 PSI for less vibration. So 32 PSI

32 on the sticker for front and 30 for rear even the new tires say 44 PSI.

So leave it at 32 and 30?

PAhonda May 11, 2010 04:13 PM

Leave them at 32 and 30. The 44 is the MAX.
