Pumping of brakes after brake job

Just got rear brakes on the back and the rotors lubed. Now it feels like the brakes are pumping as you slow to almost a complete stop. It may just be the transmission downshifting but I didn't notice it before. Of course I'm always paranoid after work is done. I thought the transmission disengaged when you stop. Any thoughts?

The transmission doesn't "disengage" when you stop.

Is it a rhythmic pumping like once for every rotation of the wheel? Downshifting only happens 3 or 4 times while slowing to a stop. Brake pulsating happens a lot more than that.

Yah, it feels sort of after every rotation. Like from 10-5mph to a stop.

Can you try the handbrake to see if it pulsates? That will tell you whether it's the front or rear brakes doing this. If it's the rear brakes, which you just got done, then you can go back to the shop that did the work?
