i got 94 exi automatic transmission, and everytime i accelerate my speedometer does not function, and everytime i go fast the check engine indicator lights up and D4 blinks continously...guys thanks for the replies. it surely helps..[&:]

In the DIY section there is a thread for acc 5th gen...

There are instructions on there to get the codes stored on the ECU, since your check engine light comes on.

Since the CEL and D4 lights both come on, then the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) on the tranny isn't working and causing your speedometer to fail.

If your car has cruise control, try using it. If it isn't working, then your VSS is most likely the culprit.

Could be the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on the tranny. That will set off the CEL & C4 lamps & store an error code that you can read to confirm this.

The VSS drives the speedometer & also is used by the cruise control. Does the speedometer cut in &out or is it dead the whole time?
