RE: Question about changing shocks
Better to change the parts listed - YES
Necessary - NO |
RE: Question about changing shocks
i honestly dont see a reason to, but if you felt the need to. i would think of buying new springs before all of those smaller parts.

RE: Question about changing shocks
When my '93 Accord had 150,000 miles on it, I called the Honda dealer about purchasing new struts for it. They asked me if my car was in an accident and if the Strut was bent. I said no. They then asked if there was fluid leaking out of the strut, again I said no. They then told me that I don't need to get new shocks and why I wanted to replace them. I said I thought 150,000 miles was a long time on a shock. They said Honda struts only need to be replaced if they are leaking or physically damaged in an accident.
I now have 254,000 miles on the same shocks. No abnormal wear on my tires or rough ride. I plan on keeping them. |
RE: Question about changing shocks
I would recomend to change the struts if you plan on doing some track speeds,or racing.
But for a daily driver, not really necessary. |
RE: Question about changing shocks
I agree. Honda shocks can take a beating, I had 233k on my shocks on my 95, still damping today. The shocks are my 99 with 183k still drive like it just came out of the factory.
